About Us

We are local residents, businesses and organizations who share a vision of nature and beauty

El Sobrante CA contains and is surrounded by cozy neighborhoods, rolling hillsides, ancient oaks and bay laurels, magnificent Bay views and the San Pablo Creek riparian zone. Our little town includes parts of Richmond and unincorporated Contra Costa County in a triangular extending roughly along I-80, San Pablo Dam Road and Appian Way / Valley View Roads. It has both suburban and rural characteristics, with a modest downtown business district running along SP Dam Road and Appian Way.

Thanks, to our almost 40 Green Team volunteers who came for Dr. Martin Luther King (MLK) Day of Service in January 2023. We had a social justice sing-along before-hand and help from SOS Richmond throughout the event.

National Cleanup Day, Saturday, September 18, 2021 was the kick off for a long range goal of cleaning up and beautifying our natural “diamond in the rough” that is El Sobrante CA.

We are partnering with Contra Costa County, Republic Services, CalTrans, El Sobrante Public Library, Greener El Sobrante, the Green Team, El Sobrante Heroes Adopt a road, Spawners and other community groups to restore cleanliness and pride to our little town. We coordinate local cleanups on the Third Saturday of each month and quarterly 94803-wide cleanups. As you might guess, we really need all the help we can get. Can you get involved?

Meet us at the library on the Third Saturday each month at 10 AM. Pick an area to keep clean of litter and debris. Form or join a team with friends, neighbors, school, place of worship, businesses or organizations to remove litter and trash from our town.

Use this opportunity to clean up around your property, street, public spaces and trouble spots, or pull weeds, refresh paint or remove graffiti.

Join us a few hours a month to maintaining our community and keeping it beautiful and free of trash and blight.

Spread the word: Download our literature, print and share it with people you think can help.
